Finally, Markdown in Gmail
Wednesday, Feb 18th, 2015
Mixmax is a communications platform that brings professional communication & email into the 21st century.
At Mixmax, we noticed our customers love to format their emails with headings, lists, bold, and italics. We know formatting complex emails is tedious and time consuming, so we’ve added native support for Markdown in Gmail. If you’re not familiar with Markdown, it’s an easy-to-use syntax for formatting text without clicking on toolbar buttons.
How It Works
Type in Markdown and we’ll convert it as you type. Don’t just view your email with Markdown code, see it rendered immediately by hitting
enter in a Mixmax email.
Mixmax supports the following Markdown syntax for fluid styling:
- Headings: # Heading 1, ### Heading 3
- Lists: *, 1.
- Italics: *asterisks* or _underscores_
- Bold: **asterisks** or __underscores__
- Strikethrough: ~~Scratch this.~~
- HR: — or ___
- Code: `backticks`
Install for free to try it out right now. Markdown support is another example of how Mixmax makes email more powerful for professionals.
